Commerce Court Hot Again

Tipsters were urging us last year to report on 41-year-old Commerce Court West (managed by GWL Realty) being more than 40% vacant. By waiting, we got an even better scoop: Smith Co. RE Services' latest data reveals that the iconic tower is now 98% full.

In November 2011, roughly 21 of the 492k SF building's 57 storeys were vacant.Today, there's just 20k SF plus a 7k SF sublease. That's 2%. Major new tenants include Chubb Insurance, Inmet Mining and, we're told, Laurentian Bank. We have a call out to architect I.M. Pei, but that's mainly just asking for an autograph.
