Busy Week For REITS

Two REIT deals to report on this morning. We spoke with Pure Industrial Real Estate Trust president Kevan Gorrie about its growth strategy for 2014. “With the pullback in the fixed-income market, we’ve had to be more patient and selective in raising capital and putting it work,” he tells us. They announced this morning the successful closing of a single-tenant industrial property in Calgary for $12.1M and a portfolio of five industrial properties in Bolton, Stoney Creek, Hamilton, Burlington, and Woodstock for $93M. Then there's Toronto's Inovalis Real Estate Investment Trust, announcing today it's bought an eight-storey, fully let office tower in Duisburg, Germany, in a 50-50 JV with a "global institutional investor" for $67.5M.
