Two towering proposed developments have the green light to go before city officials for final approval. Both Megacenter and the M-Tower received Urban Design Review Board approval this week for their proposed projects, one in Brickell and the other in Downtown Miami.

Now the developers will have to face the scrutiny of city officials for a full green light. Chilean developer Red Megacentro is proposing a 12-story, 200k SF mixed-use tower at 420 Southwest 7th St and 427 Southwest 8th St in Brickell. The project, designed by Borges+Associates Architects, will include mini-storage, street-level retail, four stories of boutique office, and an additional eight-story residential tower with 57 units and a rooftop terrace. A portion of the building's façade will be skinned in a tattoo-like modern art mural.

M-Tower is the planned 637k SF skyscraper rising at 56 Southwest First St in Downtown Miami. The development JV between Axis Realty Trust and Forse Holdings will build 440 apartments, 25k SF of shared office, 900 SF of retail and a pool deck, according to The Real Deal. Zyscovich Architects designed the tower.
