South Florida CRE Titans Make Forbes Billionaires List

South Florida is home to three real estate billionaires, according to Forbes massive list of billionaires published this week: Jeff Greene of Palm Beach ($2.3B in assets), Igor Olenicoff of Lighthouse Point ($2.4B), and Jorge Perez of Miami ($1.2B, second from right at the groundbreaking of Apogee Beach).Jorge embodies the immigrant success story, particularly the South Florida immigrant success story: Born in Argentina to Cuban parents, he built his fortune here through affordable housing and condos. A wrinkle: As the condo market contracted in the late 2000s, Jorge dropped off the billionaires list, but with the resurgence of the condo market, hes back.
