The Capitol Hill neighborhood is about to get a building with a twist. This fall, developer Vibrant Cities will begin construction on the eight-story mixed-use Pivot Building. The structure has a unique design that will take advantage of an irregularly shaped lot.
The structure’s lower floors will resemble its urban surroundings and reflect the neighborhood’s auto row history. There will be 4,500 SF of retail/restaurant space and 11K SF of office space on the lower floors.
The upper floors will include 71 apartments. This part of the building will be pivoted off center from the building's base to take advantage of downtown views. The building’s facade will shift from darker masonry on the ground floors to lighter, modern colors on the upper floors.
The architecture firm is Tiscareno Associates. The building recently passed design review.
