Rainier Square Will Be Topped By Four 5K SF Penthouses

Rainier Square will boast top-of-the-line residential real estate when it opens in early 2020. Floors 40 through 58 will feature high-end residential units that range from one-bedroom units to four, 5K SF penthouses, Wright Runstad President Greg Johnson said at a Seattle & Sound Commercial Real Estate Women event last week.

“There is simply nothing else like in Seattle,” Johnson said.

The building’s shape, which is larger at the bottom and gets progressively narrower as it goes up, is designed to mirror the unique sloping base of its neighbor, Rainier Tower. The design will allow residents at the top of the building to have 360-degree views, while still preserving the current views at the Rainier Tower.

The 1.7M SF building will include 722K SF of office space that is currently under contract to Amazon, as well as 79K SF of retail. Equinox gym and PCC market are set to occupy part of the retail space. The project will include a rooftop bar and 1,000 parking spaces.

The building's height allows for large square footage right in the middle of downtown, Johnson said. This design keeps with the city's plans to have high density in the center of downtown, near mass transit and with easy freeway access.
