Marquee On Meeker Will Be A 20-Acre, Mixed-Use Community In Kent. Phase 1 Will Be Complete This Year.

Landmark Development Group and HAL Real Estate broke ground recently on Marquee on Meeker, a 20-acre mixed-use development in downtown Kent. It is being developed on the former site of a city-owned nine-hole portion of the Riverbend Golf Complex at 2030 West Meeker St. Kent sold the land in 2018 through a request for proposals process.

The development will include 21 three-story, 12-unit residential buildings and two six-story 120-unit mixed-use buildings with 6K SF of ground-floor retail space each.

The site is near Sound Transits’ Sounder Train Kent transfer hub, as well as Interstate 5 and State Route 167.

The property will be developed in two phases. Phase 1 will include one of the six-story buildings and 14 of the three-story buildings, the clubhouse and access to the Green River trail. It is set to be complete in 2020.

“Marquee on Meeker is an important project for the city and a tremendous leap forward in remaking Kent’s historic main street into a living, working destination for Kent residents,” Kent Economic and Community Development Department Director Kurt Hanson said in a statement. “This multi-phase project brings high-quality housing to our downtown and we see it as a springboard for continued reinvestment along the corridor that will better connect residents and businesses to our historic downtown.”
