| Construction of the First Hill Streetcar, part of the mass transit extension package that includes significant light rail extensions, is scheduled to begin next month, Seattle Department of Transportation planners announced at an open house Wednesday night. The $134M streetcar will begin in Pioneer Square and connect to Capitol Hill via First Hill. Given the notoriety of the South Lake Union Trolley, we're slightly disappointed this project's FHS acronym doesn't immediately lend itself to being made fun of. (Nobody is going to want a T-shirt that says "I came to Seattle and rode the FHS.") Construction will be completed in 2014. |
