Even though building owners near Amazon see a spike in their real estate valuations, the sale of Plaza 600 was a surprise, even to seller Vance Corp, CEO Mark Houtchens told The Seattle Times this week. According to Houtchens, Vance wasn't planning to sell its 214k SF property across Westlake Avenue from where Amazon is planning one of its three 1M SF office towers. But the Joshua Green Corp made it a $54.9M offer it couldn't refuse.
