Amazing Grace Lutheran Church Sells For $3.6M

Crista Ministries Purchased Amazing Grace Lutheran Church In Southeast Seattle.

CRISTA Ministries recently purchased the Amazing Grace Lutheran Church at 10056 Renton Ave. S. for $3.6M.The purchase included a 7,300 SF church building, a 7,800 SF elementary school and 2.2 acres of surrounding land in a high-visibility location in southeast Seattle.

CRISTA Ministries will relocate its Seattle Urban Academy to the newly purchased property. Previously, it was at its leased space at 3800 South Othello St. The academy provides education services to at-risk high school students.

“Seattle Urban Academy is in expansion mode as it seeks to serve a larger number of students in the city,” Colliers International's Matt McGregor said in a statement. “The Amazing Grace Lutheran Church property offered both an existing school building as well as a sanctuary well-suited for eventual conversion into additional education facilities.”

Amazing Grace’s worship center will relocate to a leased location yet to be determined. The Amazing Grace Christian School is part of the Renton Prep Christian School and soon will move to its new location at 200 Mill Ave. S. in Renton. Seattle Urban Academy will open in its facility in the fall of 2019.
