One of the largest mixed-use developments from Hunter Storm, the development arm of Hunter Properties, is about to deliver its first pair of office buildings at 1143 and 1155 Coleman Ave. in San Jose. The 357K SF Class-A office buildings at Gensler-designed Coleman Highline offer open collaboration areas, floor-to-ceiling glass windows and customizable amenity buildings. Bisnow took a tour of the progress in September.

The Interior

The office space in Coleman Highline offers 30-foot column spacing, 32K SF floor plates and floor height of 14 feet with floor-to-ceiling glass. The first two buildings will provide 357K SF of office. The floors were designed with an N-core, allowing tenants to have higher floor plate occupancy, according to Hunter Properties President Deke Hunter.

Nearby Amenities

The complex is next to the 18,000 capacity Avaya Stadium, which is available for company events.

On-site Amenities

Outdoor amenity space will provide a living room feel with places for people to sit and meet. Additional amenity space will be available in a customizable 6K SF building that could be a fitness center, cafeteria, day care or whatever the tenant would find beneficial.

Connecting The Project

Buildings will be connected by a raised outdoor walkway, inspired by New York’s Highline. The space will include planters, seating and lighting that is hidden underneath the railing.

More To Come

The entire property will offer two hotels operated by Aloft, retail buildings, secured parking structures and 1.5M SF of office. The far end of the property closest to the Santa Clara Caltrain station will include 1,600 rental units.

Connecting To Transit

The property will have direct access to Caltrain with a recently constructed pedestrian walkway.
