CIM Group and 1547 Critical Systems Realty broke ground on a 240K SF data center campus on 7.3 acres at 400 Paul Ave. in San Francisco on April 10. This project is San Francisco’s first data center in over 10 years.

The first phase of development includes renovation of two existing 1930s-era buildings totaling 54K SF into modern creative office and support space for data center tenants. In addition, site work will commence immediately for the campus, including a 187K SF purpose-built data center. The project will provide flexibility for a single tenant or multiple users, according to 1547 Critical Systems Realty CEO J. Todd Raymond.

The new two-story building will offer a data center with 24 megawatts of capacity. The property is outside of San Francisco’s central business district, and is at a hub of over 15 fiber networks served by multiple international carriers.
