Planning Commission Green-Lights Live! Casino

Philadelphia's planning commission has given the green light to a second casino in the city, after Live! Hotel & Casino made some adjustments to its master plan, including ditching two large digital billboards.

Live! will be developed by Stadium Casino, a JV between Cordish Cos and Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment, which owns Parx Casino. Plans call for a 2M SF casino and entertainment complex with an 18-story hotel.

The commission's go-ahead isn't the final hurdle for the project: the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has to sign off, and there's a pending challenge to the board's assignment of the license to the developer in the first place. [PBJ]
