Blatstein Withdraws Casino Appeal

Both the Philadelphia Business Journal and Curbed have takes on developer Bart Blatstein’s decision to withdraw his appeal of the PA Gaming Control Board’s award of the state’s last casino license to Live! Hotel and Casino, asserting that the ownership overlap between Parx Casino and Live! violated state rules. Bart, who spoke at our Philly State of the Market before the decision, said at the event that he was inspired to pursue a casino because he believes the city lacks nightlife. “Of the 100 top nightclubs in the country, not one is in Pennsylvania,” he said.
