The Westin South Coast Plaza has completed renovations on all of its 394 rooms, along with its 17 suites. Many of the changes were to meet modern travelers' needs and tastes: rooms now feature blue and gray hues, and include more areas to charge electronics, but no more popcorn ceilings. Other area hotels have been busy remodeling too, with the Island Hotel and the Anaheim Majestic Garden Hotel all undergoing major changes recently, the Orange County Register reports. One more sign of the times: the Westin has become more water efficient. Among other things, it will soon replace its grass with artificial turf. [OCR]
