Darmos Properties is developing the four-story, 37K SF 25-unit property at 838 North Kings Road. The cost of the development was not disclosed.

“Kings 838 is R.D. Olson Construction’s most high-end apartment project to-date and reflects our commitment to being at the forefront of multi-unit building trends,” R.D. Olson Construction President Bill Wilhelm said in a news release.

In the heart of West Hollywood near the popular Melrose Avenue shopping district, the high-end development adds to the growing list of luxury apartments either recently completed or currently being developed.

The 48-unit Crown on nearby Santa Monica Boulevard was completed in 2017, and a 25-unit condominium project at 1030 North Kings Road is slated to open later this year, according to Urbanize.

The 838 North Kings Road project will feature several amenities including Bain Ultra air jet bathtubs, high-end appliances, nine- to 11-foot-high ceilings, a fitness studio, a yoga room and a pool.

The complex will have a theater designed to host movie premieres and live-streaming events of independent films and film festivals, according to R.D. Olson officials.

Darmos Properties, Workplays Studio Architecture, Schnackel Engineers, KPFF, Burnett & Young, tk1sc and Aron Nussbaum Studio are all part of the project team.

Completion is slated for summer 2019.
