After nine years of constant growth, the Girl Scouts of Greater New York announced they're leaving their 13k SF HQ at 43 W 23rd St, and heading to new, 17.5k SF digs at 40 Wall St in Lower Manhattan. The new Leadership Center will be exclusively dedicated to supporting and engaging the more than 29,000 girls it serves, and educating the 8,000 volunteers who deliver 90% of the Girl Scout’s programs. It will include the organization’s administrative offices; training space for volunteers; and a GSGNY girlspace, which gathers girls ages 5 to 17 from all boroughs and backgrounds to socialize, exchange ideas and attend workshops. The space will also have a computer lab and a resource library where the girls can develop service projects. Concerned citizens have been assured that no cookies will be harmed during the move.
