Joan Rivers' Manhattan Penthouse Sells for $28M

How fitting that the Queen of Comedy's Manhattan triplex is now home to Middle Eastern royalty... or so they're rumored to be. The anonymous new buyers of Joan Rivers' estate purchased the 4BR/4.5BA penthouse--which Rivers described as "Louis XIV meets Fred and Ginger"--for $28M. And it's believed they paid in cash, the New York Daily News reports. Rivers' estate encompasses the top three floors at 1 E. 62nd St, and features views of Central Park South. This purchase represents an ongoing trend of Middle Eastern buyers eyeing high-end NYC real estate. The estate was put on the market in February after Rivers suddenly died during an endoscopy last year. [NYDN]
