It sits about a mile outside the boundaries of the East New York rezoning, but MacQuesten Development’s 130-unit residential development, Van Sindren Plaza, is proceeding apace just the same.
Plans have been filed for two seven-story buildings on Van Sindren Ave near the New Lots Avenue stop on the L train, reports NY YIMBY. Between the two buildings, plans call for a total of about 21k SF of ground-floor retail space. Amenities in the works include a roof deck on at least one of the buildings, a laundry room, bike parking, and an underground garage for 21 cars.
The smaller of the two buildings won’t have parking—something citywide zoning recently stopped requiring for ground-up affordable and senior housing developments. The 38k SF assemblage the site straddles is zoned for industrial use but the developer has filed plans to upzone the land for residential use, which means it’ll go before a public review. [NYY]
