Most people might find the idea of living with nine other roommates a bit daunting, if not downright terrifying.

Residents at Common’s flagship Crown Heights co-living concept say it’s actually a pretty good fit though, and not as hectic as you might expect, 6sqft reports. That's good news for the investors that just poured $7.3M in Series A financing into Common last year

Common plans to open a second space in Williamsburg soon as well.

For monthly rents of just under $2k, residents get their own room, a kitchen fully stocked with appliances and essentials (tea, coffee, etc.), maid service and fully furnished common areas.

Residents use the messaging app Slack to communicate with one another and the building manager.

Jason Choi, a 30-year-old iOS engineer at Condé Nast, tells 6sqft that having the basics taken care of frees you up to concentrate on your career.

“It’s one less thing to worry about,” he says.

All three of the Common residents 6sqft spoke with said they’ve enjoyed their time there and found it productive. Maybe sharing a house with nine roommates isn’t so crazy after all. [6sqft]
