HAP Investments Files Plans For a Two-Building, 290k SF Development

Known for its Harlem and Washington Heights rental buildings, HAP Investments has filed plans for a two-building, 290k SF development at 215 and 225 West 28th St (pictured).

The two, 112-unit buildings will both be 210-feet and 21-stories tall. 215 West 28th St will be wider, spanning 145k SF across residential and retail space. The buildings’ 224 units are expected to average around 770 SF and be split between rentals and condos, with NY Yimby reporting 225 West 28th St is likely to be the rental property.

225 West 28th St will also have 48 parking spots in the basement, bringing total parking spots to 98.

The project—named HAP Eight—will have  a gym, a pool, a yoga studio, a child care center and a roof deck. Cantilevering over two five-story tenements, the buildings will be designed by DXA Studios, after HAP scrapped designs from Karim Rashid and the now-bankrupt WASA/Studio A. [NYY]
