Howard Lorber Throwing Real Estate-Riddled Fundraiser For Trump In The Hamptons

President Donald Trump may like to host his political rallies in Rust Belt swing states like Ohio and Pennsylvania, but when it comes to raising money, he hasn't forgotten where he came from.

Friday, Trump is expected to attend a fundraiser for his re-election campaign at the Hamptons home of Vector Group CEO Howard Lorber, who owns brokerage Douglas Elliman and development firm New Valley, The Real Deal reports. Joining Trump and Lorber at the shindig, a source told TRD, will be Witkoff Group CEO Steve Witkoff, property investor Stanley Chera and the adult children of Red Apple Group CEO John Catsimatidis.

Trump was born and raised in Queens and spent much of his adult life developing and investing in New York area real estate, although in the last decade The Trump Organization has focused on building hotels and golf courses in other cities and countries, with only a few remaining properties in the city. His background and upbringing in the industry has garnered the president loyalty — his preferred personality trait among his associates — in New York real estate circles, despite the city's overall political landscape bent strongly against the president.

After Trump's initial election campaign scored more than $2M from New York real estate executives and companies, the re-election campaign, more than two years from Election Day 2020, is off to a similar start. Chera and his wife have donated more than $500K between them and Witkoff himself has chipped in almost $300K so far, The Real Deal reports.
