Our Boston reporter Susan Diesenhouse snapped titan Sam Zell at the ULI real estate summit in Beantown. As usual he was outspoken, saying he doesn't see as many good US opportunities in this recession as previous ones and is therefore active in other places like Brazil—but not India where “we can't find a partner we think is honest.” In China, he says he's done a few deals, “but we would have done better if our partner had a better hearing aid.” He's spurning Europe, which he says is “trading no growth for no rule of law.” As for Washington's leadership, it's “frightening.”
