| Last week, over 700 people gathered at Gotham Hall for the annual Joan's Legacy Strolling Supper with Blues and News, a charity event that raises money for Uniting Against Lung Cancer. There, we snapped Condé Nast COO & CFO John Bellando and CBRE Tri-State CEO Mary Ann Tighe. Joan’s Legacy was named in honor of Joan Scarangello McNeive—the sister of Mary Ann and Thornton Tomasetti chairman Tom Scarangello—a nonsmoker who died of lung cancer in 2001 at the age of 47. This was the event’s 10th anniversary and its biggest yet, raising $1.3M. |
| Among the many industry attendees were JLL’s Mitti Liebersohn, Harwood Properties’ Craig Harwood, JRT Realty’s Ellen Israel, New York State Thruway Authority's Jonathan Ehrlich, Newmark Grubb Knight Frank’s Leslie Harwood, artist Tim Saternow, and Great Ink Communications’ Roxanne Donovan (Joan’s sister-in-law). Roxanne tells us that Joan’s Legacy has raised enough in the past decade to fund $10M in direct research grants. More women die of lung cancer than of breast, uterine, and ovarian cancers combined, while more men die of lung cancer than of prostate, colorectal, and pancreatic cancers combined. Donate here. |
