LAST NIGHT'S BROKER BASH; CONFERENCE DAY 2

We were thrilled to see so many of you last night, as we co-hosted with Prudential Douglas Elliman retail powerhouses Faith Hope Consolo and Joseph Aquino a brokers reception at 717 Madison, where 4.4k SF of retail space has become available after E. Braun & Co. relocated to Park Ave.
Faith and Joe, honorary mannequins outside of the space, which has 20 feet of frontage on Madison between 63rd and 64th Streets and joins neighbors Graff, Mauboussin, David Yurman, and Kwiat. There are 1.9k-SF spaces on the ground and second floors, and 600 SF on the lower level. Bronze was the original storefront, so owner Eight Points Asset Management restored it to its former glory, Joe says. Don’t forget: You can drive away with a MINI Cooper, offered to the broker who leases the ground-floor space.
Madison Avenue BID prez Matthew Bauer, with owner Marjorie Nesbitt and Faith, tells us Madison Avenue has seen a tremendous retail boom, pointing out stores that have opened and others under construction nearby, including Longchamp and F.P. Journe. The Surrey and The Mark hotels are also undergoing renovations, bringing more luxury hotel space to the market. Add a very loyal local customer base, and you’ve got the perfect market for true luxury brands to invest and expand, even in the down market, he says.
ZE Realty Group’s Linda Wolff-Adler, Lansco’s Bill Melville,Joseph Leinsdorf, and Sylvia Haddad, Murray Hill Properties’Alyne Model, and Lansco’s Robin Abrams. Bill just returned from a two-week trip to Japan, and jokes that some years you make the money, and other years you spend it. Hey, Bill, if you want to drop some more change, stop back at 717 Madison next Wednesday. The space is being donated for the New York City Opera to hold its 4th annual DIVAS Shop for Opera event, raising money for the design and creation of new costumes.
We found two more travelers: Prudential Douglas Elliman’s Randy Lombard just returned from Budapest, and Mary Anne Paccione is about to head off to Ireland and Switzerland. Colleagues Viviane Judson and Corinne Pulitzer say they’re staying behind this summer because there’s plenty of work; Viviane’s hoping to close on two big deals soon, while Corinne is preparing two major properties for marketing. So, keep your eyes peeled, and head over toFacebook for additional photos from last night.
