Brooklyn Heights Office Poised For Major Renovation

New plans to renovate a Brooklyn Heights Historic District office building have been approved.

The Landmarks Preservation Commission has approved plans that will see 100 Clinton St, at the corner of Remsen Street, reborn as the Packer Early Learning Center. The building was constructed in 1923 and has gone through many iterations throughout the years, including a stint as medical offices, according to NY Yimby.

Packer Early Learning Center is an offshoot of the Packer Collegiate Institute, which previously undertook an adaptive reuse project at St. Ann’s Episcopal Church at 170 Joralemon St. Plans call for a full restoration of the façade’s masonry, replacement of windows and ground floor infill, plus a relocation of the building’s entrance.

There will also be a one-story addition that will be designed with usable roof space around the green roof atop the new third story. Lower Manhattan-based Hudson Studio Architects has been tasked with design for the school, which will include five classrooms upon completion.

This is the latest building in Brooklyn Heights set to be reborn with a new use. Last month, Hudson Cos filed redevelopment plans for the 54-year-old Brooklyn Heights Library, which will include luxury condos in addition to a new library. [NYY]
