At 8am Friday, CBRE's Eric Gelber left the starting line (with Pine Beach, NJ, resident Sally Kalksma) for a 48-hour, light jog (we wouldn't want him to take things to the extreme) through Central Park to raise funds for the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (multiple myeloma is an incurable blood cancer that has one of the lowest five-year relative survival rates of all cancers). In 2011, he ran 155 miles in 45 hours through the Catskills to his parents' in Suffern, and last year, he ran the 135-mile Badwater Ultramarathon from Death Valley to Mt. Whitney in as high as 130-degree heat in 42.5 hours.

At 7:59am on Sunday, he crossed the finish line after completing 164 miles (imagine running for so long you need to shave afterward) with his wife Tani, their three children, and Jeannie Dreyer of Brookline, NH with her husband and four children. (Jeannie and Sally are myeloma patients.) "Literally hundreds of runners came out to the park this weekend to run with me or cheer us on," Eric says. "Many even came out and donated on the spot." He surpassed his $100k fundraising goal, and donations continue to come in. Add to his total here so you can see how he outdoes himself next year.
