Mack-Cali’s 125 Broad Street was awarded LEED-EB/OM Silver, the only downtown office building to achieve Silver so far. Building features: Energy Star designation, an enhanced metering program, recycling efforts that divert over 50% of recyclables from the landfill and 100% from the waste stream, a green cleaning program, plumbing fixture upgrades, and high-efficiency air filters.

The USGBC opened the second public comment period for the proposed ’12 update to its LEED rating system, which will close Sept. 14. It received 6,000 comments and recommendations on the drafts during the first public comment period (November ’10 through January ‘11).
