CBRE’s Andrew Sussman, who worked on last month's record-breaking Citadel lease, has been promoted to vice chairman from EVP.

Andrew is an 18-year veteran of the firm’s New York Consulting Group, which supports brokers with research and analysis and partners with them "to bring in best-in-class clients," a spokesperson tells Bisnow

He's worked on several of CBRE’s most high-profile deals to date, most recently with the team that repped hedge fund Citadel in its 211k SF anchor tenancy lease at 425 Park Ave

Citadel paid $300/SF for the ultra-luxe office building's penthouse level, shattering NYC and possibly even world records for office rents. Andrew was not immediately available to comment on his role in the deal.

CBRE's Mary Ann Tighe repped the landlord, L&L Holdings, in that deal.

Andrew also worked on Viacom’s 1.6M SF renewal at 1515 Broadway and Citigroup’s 2.6M SF renewal at 388-390 Greenwich St, “two of the largest leases ever completed in Manhattan,” according to a CBRE statement.

Andrew’s career is a showcase for successfully navigating real estate complexities for some of our city’s largest and most significant occupiers,” Matthew Van Buren, president of CBRE’s Northeast Division, says.

Beyond those massive trophy deals, Andrew’s client list includes a number of financial services, media and law heavyweights like Morgan Stanley, CBS, Mayer Brown and others. All in all his deals have “led to more than 10M SF in transactions within the past five years,” the statement says.

Lewis Miller, vice chairman of CBRE’s New York Consulting Group, said the promotion was well-deserved and praised Andrew for his “passion for the business, tireless work ethic and the fact that he puts his client’s best interests above all else.”
