| Saturday night (yes, Bisnow sometimes works weekends), we dropped by the second annual New Taste of the Upper West Side culinary fundraising gala, which benefits the Columbus Avenue BID . Here, we have the BID's executive director Barbara Adler and UWS property owner Paul Brusco and wife Michelle. Besides tasting dishes from more than 30 restaurants and over two dozen Long Island vineyards, we learned that the district (which covers W. 67th to 82nd) is 98% occupied. When the BID was formed in '99, the shopping corridor was 50% vacant, but initiatives like Neighborhood Streetscape Beautification Program and landlords and merchants working together changed the face of the neighborhood.
