Who Got $3M This Morning?

Unless you found 750,000 quarters on the subway this morning, you're not the answer to our headline. That would be DC-based XAPPmedia, which snagged $3M in seed funding from private investors.

Announced this morning, the money will go toward the development, launch, and wider deployment of the XAPPmedia advertising platform called XAPP Ads. It lets Ultramobile consumers, who listen to audio content while doing other things, hear audio ads and interact with them through voice. (See our recent story.) National Public Radio is already using it and the service will expand to other publishers this year.
