We love lists, and Fortune 500’s is particularly interesting this year considering all the tech companies near the top. Apple came in at No. 5, followed by AT&T (No. 11), Verizon (No. 16), HP (No. 17), and IBM (No. 23). (Wal-Mart is No. 1 again.) The list, based on revenue, also had a good handful of DC-area companies that have long histories of working for the government. Lockheed Martin took the top rank among DC'ers at No. 59, followed by a dominating number of Virginia-based companies: General Dynamics (No. 99), Northrop Grumman (No. 122), and CSC (No. 185), just to name a few.
