LiveSafe Has New Big Partner

One of the perks of being in a friendly tech community is joining forces to dominate an industry. Arlington, Va.-based LiveSafe linked up with DC-based Blackboard this week to bring LiveSafe’s safety app to more college campuses. The joint effort involves Blackboard Transact, which sells integrated campus commerce and security solutions to hundreds of higher ed schools. LiveSafe’s mobile tech provides for direct communication between safety officials and students, emergency notifications, and an interactive safety map. It just announced a $6.5M round of funding three weeks ago.
