Retailers Are Still Making Robust Deals, But Experts Think 'Yeah, Let’s See How Long This Lasts'

Retailers are shifting from a growth perspective to one where simply maintaining their portfolio’s value is considered a success.

ICSC’s RECon conference in Las Vegas highlighted the contradictions in today’s retail landscape—fast-casual restaurants are booming while luxury and mid-price apparel companies suffer. But fast-casual restaurants aren’t the only ones doing well, discount retailers and some suburban neighborhood shopping center landlords are also making robust deals, CoStar reports.

And even though lots of people are still making deals, Garrick Brown, Cushman & Wakefield’s VP of retail research for the Americas, says there is a general feeling of, “yeah, let’s see how long this lasts.” [CoStar]
