American Apparel is undergoing another leadership change as its CEO of two years, Paula Schneider (right), announced plans to step down Oct. 3.
Paula came aboard after founder and CEO Dov Charney (left) was let go in 2014 for supposed inappropriate behavior and misuse of company funds. Paula will be succeeded by current general counsel and chief administrative officer Chelsea Grayson, Women’s Wear Daily reports.
The shift of leadership comes at a time when the teen retailer, known for its sexually suggestive marketing efforts, is seeking a buyer to purchase some, if not all, of its assets just six months after it came out of bankruptcy. The company filed for bankruptcy last October. [WWD]
