The Manta Resort
Location: Pemba Island, Tanzania
Cost: $2,475/night
The Manta Resort features a unique, floating, underwater room. The landing dock at sea level includes a lounge area and bathroom facility and a ladder leads to a roof perfect for sunbathing. Downstairs you can enjoy almost 360 degrees of views as you watch reef fish and other sea creatures. Unfortunately, this magic comes at a hefty price.
Hotel Kakslauttanen
Location: Saariselkä, Finland
Cost: $465/night
Hotel Kakslauttanen houses the famed glass igloos providing unobstructed views of the night sky and northern lights. The hotel is open during northern lights season, from the third week of August through the end of April. The hotel offers glass igloos, kelo-glass igloos, snow igloos and log cabins that accommodate 10 people and include a fireplace and a sauna.
No Man’s Fort
Location: Solent, Portsmouth

Originally built between 1867 and 1880 to protect Portsmouth from an attack from Napoleon III, No Man’s Fort is now a luxury hotel with all the bells and whistles. The fort includes 22 bedrooms, a nightclub, a hot tub, a lighthouse penthouse and laser quest. Located 1.4 miles from the Isle of Wight and a mile from Portsmouth, the fort can be reached by helicopter or boat.

Though its location is less than glamorous, this quirky hotel provides incredible panoramic views of the Wadden Sea inside a 150-high room. The machine room of the crane has been transformed into a luxurious bedroom that combines an industrial feel with high-end comfort. The Dream Cave features four rooms built inside the famous “fairy chimneys” rock formations. The hotel is close to restaurants and cafés and is furnished similarly to historic homes in Turkey.
