Another out-of-town shared workspace company wants to be a player in the Chicago market. CoCo, a Minneapolis-based company, bought Enerspace Chicago, a smaller shared workspace firm in the West Loop.

CoCo has hinted at expanding past the Twin Cities for a while and the Enerspace acquisition could be a sign of further expansion. CoCo has four locations in Minneapolis and St. Paul, and tried to open a space in Fargo, ND, the Star-Tribune reports. The company's 1,000 members can now use Enerspace if they're in Chicago and vice versa. Enerspace Chicago has around 50 members.

Enerspace also has a location in Palo Alto, CA, where it's now headquartered, and Enerspace founder Jamie Russo will be an adviser for CoCo. Another out-of-town shared office company, MakeOffices, is in rapid expansion in the Windy City. MakeOffices has locations in River North, downtown and will open a Streeterville office at 541 N Fairbanks June 1. [Star-Tribune]
