This week, Howard Hughes is breaking ground on a 303-room upscale hotel overlooking the Fountains at Waterway Square (so stop doing weird stuff there... people can see you), part of Houston's massive hotspot The Woodlands. EVP Paul Layne, above, tells us the firm—which owns and develops the 28,000-acre master-planned community—has 1.8M SF of new construction underway, including 11 office buildings and a 400-unit luxury multifamily tower as well.
That's a lot of construction workers for family and friends to visit—here's what the hotel will look like. Paul got a break from the construction flurry over the weekend as son-in-law Andrew Disney directed a film airing in the Tribeca Film Festival (Intramural: The Movie). The whole family is going, except Andrew's wife/Paul's eldest daughter—she's expecting Paul's fourth grandchild any day now.
