What is Bisnow?

It's OK if you don't know what Bisnow is, given that we just starting publishing in Silicon Valley today. Here's a rundown. We're HQ'd in DC, and the dream (alluded to in the pic) is to be the people-orientedhyper-local news, events, and education platform for America's $11 trillion commercial real estate industry. Starting with our atypical writing: short captions, lots of pictures, fun, upbeat, yet always (we hope) informative and even "actionable." We have 75 employees and publish in 25 major metros coast-to-coast. It must cost a fortune to hand-deliver Bisnow to every city we publish, right? Wrong. We've always been all-electronic, and we put the money we save back into our 250 annual events, keeping the tickets very affordable.

Our other dream: bringing business communities closer together. (That explains why we sometimes don't order enough chairs.) Here are 1,000 folks who came to an event of ours in Boston. "Disruptive" in 2014 means we do things in new ways, e.g., trying to use new technologies and data-driven approaches to fashion new formats and opportunities to help you find new business. (As opposed to what disruptive meant when the principal applied that term to us in junior highl.) Sort of an online and offline Meetup.com for the post-21 year old generation. We also host national and multi-day events for those who really like a topic and want to dive in, or who just have frequent flyer miles to burn.
