The Fabulous Real Estate Of Prince

The sudden death of Prince recently has the IRS delving into the music icon's estate to decide the value of his legacy. At Bisnow we're honoring the musician our way by taking a peek at his real estate holdings.

Here's the front of Prince's 65k SF Minneapolis estate known as Paisley Park Studios, which he began building in the mid-1980s after the success of his music and movie Purple Rain.

The property may look like a warehouse from the outside, but the artist didn't hesitate to add his purple touch to the interior—even emblazoning his symbol across the floor.

The first floor houses the production and performance facilities, like this lounge space, and the second level contains executive offices. Prince had the downstairs made windowless so that he could work without knowing whether it was night or day.

Here's another shot inside the building, including a peek into the massive state-of-the-art recording studio, put together by BOTO Design. The estate—which is rumored to contain a massive cache of the singer's unreleased music—could become a museum honoring the iconic purple-clad musician.

This humble abode was featured in Prince's movie, Purple Rain, and is being sold for just $110k. The artist never lived in the house himself—just used it for his film.

Finally, here's a look at Prince's Spanish mansion from Engel & Volkers, which has been sitting on the market for years at a price of $6M.

The pink-stuccoed pad was sold by Prince in 2006 after his divorce from the woman he bought the property for, Mayte Garica.

The current owner has removed Prince's over-the-top rock star interior, but kept the pink theme—and has some small tokens left behind from the musician, like a piece of pottery with the symbol the artist chose to replace his name.
