My Private Island: David Copperfield's Musha Cay

This is not an illusion, you can rent David Copperfield’s private island, Musha Cay, for a mere $57k a night. The world-famous illusionist purchased the island in 2006 for $50M, then invested another $40M to renovate the getaway spot.

Since buying one island is so 1990s, Copperfield also purchased 10 additional islands nearby, completing an archipelago now titled the Islands of Copperfield Bay.

The islands are just 85 miles from Nassau, Bahamas, and a short 1.5-hour flight from Miami/Fort Lauderdale, FL.

The 700-acre resort isn’t short on amenities and boasts an outdoor theater, beachside daybeds, a 2k SF Balinese beach pavilion, and a romantic dock lit only by torches.

Guests have access to bikes, a gym and a championship grass tennis court. A staff of over 30 people, including a world-class chef, ensures guests have a relaxing vacation. The 11 islands feature 40 pristine beaches.

There are five separate homes throughout the island, accommodating up to 24 guests total. Visitors can explore the island by sailboat, jet ski, catamaran or paddle board, all included in the rental fee.

Several celebrities, including Oprah Winfrey, Bill Gates and Johnny Depp, have vacationed on Musha Cay.
