Huge Condo Project Coming To The Arts District

A proposed development that would include 600 live/work condos could be coming to 520 S Mateo St in the Arts District.

It would be built on a two-acre site and include 60k SF of commercial space.

A nearly 30-year-old industrial building would have to be torn down to build the project, which is being developed by San Francisco’s Carmel Partners, according to Urbanize LA.

An environmental review has been requested. There would have to be a zoning change for the development to be built.

It would be built near At Mateo, the first shopping mall going up in the Arts District, which will include 130k SF of retail space. [ULA]
