Opening Of The Bloc's Open-Air Courtyard Two Weeks Away

The open-air central courtyard at the Bloc, the massive mixed-use development under construction in downtown LA, is scheduled to open in the coming weeks.

Called "The Square," the courtyard will make its debut June 16. The big occasion will feature a musical performance, according to Curbed.

There will be a host of stores, an Alamo Drafthouse and a replica of the Tail O' the Pup hot dog stand.

The Ratkovich Co is building a new Metro portal connecting the Bloc to the Seventh Street Metro Center station.

The entire project includes a 496-room hotel, retail (including a renovated Macy's) and 750k SF of creative office space.

The Bloc is being transformed into a mixed-use development for $241M.

The project, which will change the face of Seventh Street in the Financial District, is the biggest planned development downtown. [Curbed]
