Another new hotel is rising in Hollywood, this one along the Walk of Fame near the Kodak Theatre and Capitol Records.
CIM Group is developing the six-story project, designed by Gene Fong Associates, which will include up to 167 guest rooms and suites, nearly 20k SF of ground-floor retail, and 1,600 SF of community/art space.
The hotel, which may be managed by Hyatt House, is on a .75-acre site occupied by a number of low-rise commercial structures, reports Urbanize LA. The project will provide a full range of resort-style amenities—a pool deck, a fitness center, a bar/club, a business center and some small meeting rooms.
The hotel’s exterior design staggers elements to create changing patterns across the building's façade, while ground-level windows and glass provide a pedestrian-friendly street front of shops, a restaurant and possibly a black-box theater, according to the architect. Construction is expected to begin in February 2016, with completion in early 2018. [ULA]
