Andrew Lloyd Webber Snaps Up Covent Garden Digs

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Really Useful Group snapped up 6 Catherine St in Covent Garden for £14.75M. The 10k SF building, adjacent to The Really Useful Group’s Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, was previously owned by The Food and Drink Federation.

The freehold building at 6 Catherine St consists of a lower ground, ground and five upper floors with opportunities for extensions.

The composer of Phantom of the Opera and Cats has been bouncing around Covent Garden since 2014. He previously was at 22 Tower St, owned by Fitzrovia-based English Rose Estates. Though Webber kept the lease, he had largely relocated to nearby 17 Slingsby Place.   English Rose Estates then submitted plans to Camden council to convert the building into 24 luxury flats.
