New details have emerged on the University of Houston's new innovation center at Energy Research Park, which it's building with the help of some local investors.
The Texas Collegiate Regional Center, an organization that develops and manages a fund that invests in promising new technologies, formalized an agreement with the University of Houston in May 2014 to build the innovation center. The agreement establishes an 80-year land deal between the TCRC and the university to build two 75k SF office buildings at Energy Research Park, according to the Houston Business Journal.
Tenants of the new buildings will necessarily have a close relationship with UH as they will have full access to the university’s core facilities.
The first phase of the project will be a 75k SF, three-story office building. TCRC will begin construction in the next 12 to 18 months. Echo Construction is the lead contractor and TDCK Architects is handling design. [HBJ]
