10 buildings on Exxon's new campus are occupied now, ExxonMobil project manager Rita Burke said at yesterday's Bisnow Future of The Woodlands and Springwoods Village event, and 6,000 of its 10,000 employees are moved into their offices. The outdoor spaces are open, but the campus’ signature building—Energy Center (it's the size of three football fields and includes a floating cube)—is not. You might not know that the site was originally a tobacco/cotton farm, then an active oil field, and then a pine tree farm. Exxon is keeping the tree trend going, adding 70 species and leaving 80% of the campus covered in vegetation or lakes.
