30-Story Luxury High-Rise Planned For River Oaks Shopping District

River Oaks is getting more luxury residential. Weingarten Realty plans to work with Hanover Co. and Ziegler Cooper Architects to build a 30-story residential high-rise on the north side of West Gray at Driscoll Street within the River Oaks Shopping District. The project, at the site of Local Pour and Cafe Ginger, will include 300 units and 10k SF of ground-floor retail. Weingarten has been considering adding mixed-use and residential components to the development for the past year. In a 2016 earnings report, Weingarten disclosed the purchase of two unspecified buildings adjacent to the shopping center to facilitate further development.
