The saga of Harris County's oldest and largest country dance hall continues. Just nine months after closing its doors on New Year's Day, the 24k SF venue on a wooded lot in Cypress has reverted ownership back to Fred Stockton, the man who helped revive the dance hall in 1991. Fred is working with his partner, Joe Duong (who owns and operates The Shack and Melt), on relocating the building to revive it as a restaurant in Cypress, reports Community Impact.

Mark Martinez purchased the land in October 2014 with Tin Hall on it but soon sold the property to MHI McGuyer Homebuilders, which agreed to let Martinez keep ownership of Tin Hall if he would look for a new location. He planned to move the structure to a 20-acre tract near Dry Creek where he was partnering with a commercial developer on a retail center. In the end, Martinez struggled to find the water capacity to service the development, and the deal stalled out. On Aug. 16, tired of waiting on Martinez, the homebuilding company ceded control back to Stockton, who had second right. [CI]
