City Of Katy Sets January Demo Date For Old City Hall

In May, Katy city officials moved into their new three-story, 33k SF City Hall. Now, they've finally decided what to do with their old digs. In January, the city will begin demo on the old facility. A part will be kept and expanded into the new civic center and a former annex building will be renovated into a new visitors center, the Houston Business Journal reports. The project will only cost $6M, according to city director of tourism, marketing and PR Kayce Reina. The city hasn't set plans for the rest of the space created by the demo, but won't let the great outdoor area across from the new City Hall go to waste. [HBJ]
